Summer weddings in Sussex can move through several settings in one day: a ceremony, drinks outdoors, a wedding breakfast and an evening party. The music and equipment plan should follow those changes. A DJ quote that only says “five hours of music” does not tell you when the room is available, where the DJ will set up or whether the venue allows the first-dance effect you have in mind. Here is a practical way to plan the evening.
Start with the venue and the timing
Send the venue name or town, the date, and the approximate time you want dancing to begin. Ask your venue when the evening room is available for setup, where the DJ can load in, and whether there are any sound limits. If your wedding breakfast and party use the same room, allow for the room change. An outdoor drinks reception may need a separate music plan from the evening dance floor.
We work across East and West Sussex, including Eastbourne, Brighton, Hastings, Lewes, Worthing, Chichester, Crawley and Horsham. Every venue has its own practical requirements, so we check the setup before confirming extras. You can see venues where we have supplier relationships or event experience.
Choose the music around your guests
Start with a few must-play songs, a few songs to avoid, and the feel you want for the night. A mix of generations often works better than a rigid list of every track. Tell us about the first dance, the final song and any important announcements. Our DJs can plan with your preferences and respond to the room on the night.
Once your booking is confirmed, use your Sussex DJ Company client portal to plan your first dance, must-play songs and songs to avoid. Use the portal sign-in details provided for your booking. Before booking, tell us your music priorities in your enquiry so we can discuss the evening with you.
What is included in an evening DJ booking?
Our Evening DJ guide price is £650 for five hours. It includes the DJ, sound system, booth, disco lighting and music planning. Tell us if you want music for another part of the day or a different duration, and we will quote for the actual schedule. Do not assume that ceremony, drinks and wedding breakfast coverage are included in an evening booking.
The Classic package is £1,199 and adds a white LED starlight dance floor and 4ft MR & MRS letters to Evening DJ. All-Day Wedding is £1,000 for music and support throughout your wedding day; the final coverage and practical details are confirmed in your personal proposal. Ultimate is £1,999, combining Evening DJ, the three-hour Mirror, floor, letters, uplighting, Dancing on Clouds and two confetti cannons. See the full package inclusions before choosing.
Make the extras fit the venue
A starlight dance floor can give the first dance a clear focal point; its size and position need to suit the room. A Magic Mirror photo booth adds a separate photo activity for guests and needs space and access for its attendant. Uplighting can bring colour to the room without changing the whole décor. Dancing on Clouds and confetti can be memorable, but they depend on the venue’s rules and practical suitability. We check those details with you before including them in a confirmed proposal.
If you already have a DJ, you can enquire about wedding extras on their own. Tell us your date and venue, then select individual services in the personal chooser emailed to you. Review what your package already includes before choosing extras.
From idea to booking
Explore the published packages, then send us your date, venue and contact details. We will email your personal chooser so you can select a package and extras. We check availability and confirm the final price, booking terms and payment timetable in your proposal. The standard deposit is 20%. Sending an enquiry does not reserve the date.
Build your Sussex wedding package or ask us a question. We will help put the right music and services together for your celebration.
