Plan the music around the whole evening
Start with the moments that need everyone’s attention, then leave room for the party. This is a suggested planning sequence, not a fixed package timetable.
- Arrival and dinner: decide whether you want background music and whether guests will use more than one room. Confirm when equipment can be set up before people arrive.
- Speeches, awards or a raffle: share the running order, microphone needs and any walk-on tracks in advance. Agree who will give the DJ the cue for each moment.
- Open the dance floor: give us a few songs your team loves, favourite decades or genres, and anything to avoid. A mixed team does not need an identical playlist all night.
- The final song: check the venue’s music finish time as well as the bar and transport arrangements. They may be different.
Five details to check before booking
- Access: the earliest setup time, parking or unloading arrangements, stairs and lifts.
- Room layout: where the DJ, dancing space and any photo booth will sit, including a dinner-to-party room change.
- Sound: the venue’s volume rules or sound limiter, and whether its installed sound system must be used.
- Timings: guest arrival, meal service, announcements, entertainment start and music finish.
- Requirements: tell us about any supplier-documentation requirements. Effects and extra equipment need the venue’s agreement where applicable.

Christmas party questions
Can we choose the music?
Yes. Share must-play songs, music you enjoy and anything to avoid. Tell us whether you want Christmas favourites throughout the evening or just a few seasonal tracks. We plan around your preferences and respond to your guests on the night.
Can you work around dinner, speeches and awards?
Yes. Send the running order, microphone requirements and details of any separate rooms. Early setup or additional coverage is agreed in your quote so the equipment and timings match the event.
Can we hire extras if the venue already has a DJ?
Yes, you can enquire about a Magic Mirror, dance floor or uplighting separately. Check that outside suppliers are permitted and send the date, venue and service you need. Availability, access and suitability are confirmed before booking.
Do you sell tickets to Christmas party nights?
This page is for hiring entertainment for your own event. For tickets, food, seating or accommodation at a venue’s shared party night, contact that venue directly.
